Brought to you by Narwhaler! This mod adds the dodo as a new species based on up-to-date reconstructions of this iconic cousin of the pigeon!
The dodo was a flightless bird endemic to Mauritius, it didn't fear humans, as it was adapted to a habitat without predators. Less than a century after the first recorded mentions of the bird by Dutch sailors in 1598, the dodo went extinct on the island due to invasive species, destruction of its habitat and hunting by humans. After tragic disappearance, the dodo became a symbol of human-caused extinction in popular culture.
Features
Unique models for the adult and the juvenile, along with albino variants. Working education (requires custom texture), research and zoopedia with unique UI images. Unique biome and continent preferences. Based off the Indian Peafowl, uses its enrichment items.

- Interspecies enrichment with the Aldabra Giant Tortoise, the closest relative in the game to the Mauritius giant tortoises (Cylindraspis spp.)
- The albino variant is based on the dodo sculpture of Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
