Borders Expanded

This mod allows you to adjust the buildable area of your zoo up to its maximum size.

(NOTE: Most of the default, flat maps you can choose for sandbox, challenge, and franchise modes are already as big as they can get. This mod mainly benefits converted scenario maps for use in sandbox and challenge modes.)

My favorite maps to build on are converted scenario zoos, as these often have unique terrain and surroundings. However, this came at the cost of being more limited in buildable area. Expanded Borders fixes this.

Simply rename a guest or staff member "Expand" and the borders will expand to their maximum size. See the images for examples of map expansions.

Optionally, you can also rename them "Expand#" followed by a four digit number (e.g. "Expand#0600") to expand (or shrink) the boundary. Note that 1000 is the maximum size for maps. Any higher shouldn't break anything, but the area won't become any larger.

Save game compatible (though it's good practice to always back-up your save games!). Once adjusted to your liking, the mod can safely be removed and the changes will remain. ACSE not required.

Since the mod uses the game's cheat code system, it should work on pretty much any version of the game, even if I haven't officially updated it. Be sure to let me know if you find any issues with a new game version.

A few notes about different behaviors outside the default borders:

• []Any existing visible water outside the default borders is usually fake. It exists only visually and does not act like water for animals. It nevertheless looks fine and should give you a satisfying island or beach with some terrain paint. Use the terraforming tools to raise or lower the ground to adjust the water.

  []You can still make pools of water normally outside the default borders.

  []Some map surroundings may be closer to the default borders than others. You may need to raise the terrain above it in order to build normally.

  []Occasionally, the terrain at the edges of your expanded borders may look a little wonky at first since the camera wasn't meant to get a good look at it anyway. You should be able to use the terraforming tools to adjust it as needed for a good look.
