The bluebuck was the first large mammal to become extinct in historic times, the last specimen was shot around the year 1800. Nowadays, only 4 mounted specimens remain in the museums of Lieden, Vienna, Stockholm and Paris.
• This mod adds the bluebuck (Hippotragus leucophaeus) to the game. The first African mammal to become extinct in historical times, European settlers hunted this vulnerable species to extinction for its meat and fur, which is said to have been a beautiful tone of blue.
