Skeleton Crew

Description

This mode improves chanter skeleton summons in several ways. Works for "If their bones..." and for Rhymer's skeletons too.

Always thought these rattling fellas deserve a bit more that they have. 

For 90% of cases specter was always a better pick. 15 years passed since game release, and now the time has come to fix it!

Installation instructions

1. Get yourself UnityModManager of version 0. 32. 5. 0 or higher: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/21?tab=description

2. Run it, point it to PoE folder. Well, just follow the manual on their page.

3. Get the .zip folder from this mod. Select "Install Mod" inside the Mods tab.

You are done.

Main features

1. Skeletons scale with the summoner's level now. Every level they get a bit of health, and some stats like deflection, accuracy, and so on. No too much, don't expect them to deal any serious damage, but they will become able to hit at least something sometimes past level 2.

The scaling magnitude is default, implemented by Obsidian, I have just enabled it.

The scaling takes character total level, not just chanter. This is done to support build variety for Multiclass mod by Catward https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/413?tab=description

2. Skeletons get some baseline DR. They get some from the leveling, and I have added some more. By level 10, they will have a couple points from scaling, and 5 additional DR (0. 5 per level). DR is further modified by damage type profile.

x125% for piercing

x100% for slashing

x50% for crushing

x75% for burning

x110% for frost

x110% for corrosion

Together with increased health this will give them an ability to survive a couple hits from regular enemies of their level. Should be enough for fast cycling summon available at lvl 1.

3. You can now choose weapons for your skeletons in the mod menu!

Each skeleton can be given any base weapon, even firearms. How balanced it is - it is for you to decide.

Rhymer's summoning gets the first two skeletons.

4. You now can give these fellas a bit of personality! You can name them in the mod settings!

Mine ones are a bunch of former Deadfire pirates :)

Custom names will work only on skeletons summoned by main character. Companions and enemies will get "Human Skeleton" version.

Scaling and everything else will still apply for everyone.

5. Additionally, to further support build variety: chanter leveling (with or without multiclass mode) will allow for additional bonuses, in order to provide competition with higher level summons and introduce incentive to get more chanter levels, not just 1 level dip. Each 4 chanter levels skeletons will get an upgrade for weapons and shields quality and some additional DR (not multiplicative).

Level 4: Fine weapons, +1 extra DR

Level 8: Exceptional weapons, +2 extra DR total (weapon visual model upgrades will stop here, unfortunately)

Level 12: Superb weapons, +4 extra DR total

Level 16: Legendary weapons, +8 extra DR total
