📋 About This Mod

Removes or adjusts the level cap in Pillars of Eternity and handles progression tables for levels beyond what the game originally supports.

What this mod does

By default, Pillars of Eternity caps you at level 12 (16 with expansions). This mod lets you set the level cap to any value you want - or effectively remove it entirely by setting it to a very high value.

The interesting part is what happens when you level beyond the original progression tables. The game's class tables only define abilities and skill points up to level 16. This mod automatically rotates the progression table entries to provide meaningful rewards at higher levels, so you don't just get empty level-ups.

Why I made this

I was approaching max level and wanted to keep playing without running into the cap. I looked around for existing uncappers but found that most either had issues or were outdated. "Yet Another Uncapper" works but uses a simple rollover approach. The mod "Level cap 40" inspired me to use Unity Mod Manager instead of patching static assemblies, which is cleaner and more maintainable. I also wanted more control over how progression tables behave at higher levels.

If you want to customize the actual progression tables themselves (change which abilities unlock at which levels, add new abilities, etc.), check out my Progression Table Editor.

I noticed that most of the other level uncappers also feature uncapping camping supplies. As I personally don't care about that feature, I decided to leave it out of this mod for now. However if you think that feature is important, please let me know. It wouldn't be too hard to add it.

Requirements

  • []Pillars of Eternity (tested with Steam version but should work on all)

[]Unity Mod Manager 0. 32. 4 or higher

[]Windows (not tested on Linux/Proton but should work)

    Installation

    • []Install Unity Mod Manager if you haven't already

[]Run Unity Mod Manager and select Pillars of Eternity from the game list

      []Click the "Mods" tab

[]Drag and drop the mod ZIP into the Unity Mod Manager window, or use "Install Mod" and browse to the ZIP

[]Enable the mod in Unity Mod Manager

      Settings

In-Game open the mod settings (Default Ctrl+F10) in Unity Mod Manager to configure:

      (Un)cap Level to

Sets the new maximum level. Default is 99, but you can set any value you want. Setting it to 16 would restore vanilla behavior.

Rotate entire table or only last 2 steps?

Controls how the mod handles progression beyond the original table:

      • []Rotate last 2 only (default): Alternates between the last two progression table entries (typically levels 15 and 16). This gives you a consistent pattern of rewards.

[]Rotate entire table: Cycles through the entire progression table from the beginning. You'll get level 1 rewards at level 17, level 2 at 18, etc.

[]Custom: Specify exactly which progression table levels to use for even and odd character levels.

Progression table level used for even/odd levels (Custom mode only)

When using Custom rotation, these settings let you specify which progression table entry to use. For example, if you set even levels to 16 and odd levels to 15, you'll alternate between those two entries just like the default mode, but with explicit control.

        Enable debug logging

Prints detailed information about what the mod is doing to the Unity Mod Manager log. Useful for troubleshooting or understanding how progression tables are being applied.

Print full progression tables to log

Automatically prints progression table information to the log whenever the game performs a progression table lookup (usually during level-up). Useful for seeing exactly what rewards you're getting.

Print progression tables for all classes

Dumps the entire progression table for all classes to the log. Helpful if you're debugging or planning to edit tables.

        How it works

The mod uses Harmony to patch two methods:

        • []CharacterStats.get_PlayerLevelCap: Returns your configured level cap instead of the game's default

        • AbilityProgressionTable. GetLevelAbilityPoints: Rotates progression table entries for levels beyond the original table

When you level up past the maximum defined in a progression table, the mod looks at your rotation setting and provides the appropriate
