📋 About This Mod
About
Lets you customize how many ability, talent, and skill points each class gets, both at character creation and at every level-up afterward. Each of the 11 classes can be tuned independently, so you can make some classes gain points faster, slower, or exactly as they do in vanilla.
Works entirely through Unity Mod Manager (UMM). Nothing in your game files gets overwritten or replaced.
Features
-
[]Separate Abilities / Talents / Skills sliders for each class[/]
[]Customize what a class gets at character creation (ability picks + attribute points)[/]
[]Customize what a class gets at every level-up after that[/]
[]Optional per-class removal of ability/talent requirements (can cause crashes in some situations; back up your saves before using this option)[/]
[]Advanced mode: set points individually for every level from 1 to 16, if you want more precise control[/]
How It Works
Each class has its own section in the UMM window. Just move a slider for whatever you want to change; any slider you touch takes effect for that class.
-
[]vanilla – leave that level as the game normally has it[/]
[]0 – grant no points at that level[/]
[]1–99 – grant exactly that many points[/]
Changes apply the next time you open the level-up or character screen.
Installation
-
[]Extract the zip into your Pillars of Eternity\Mods folder.[/]
[]Launch the game and open the UMM window from the main menu.[/]
[]Enable Configurable Level Up Points Per Class.[/]
This is a Release Candidate (RC)
I've only given this a quick check myself and haven't done extensive play-testing, so treat it as early/testing software. Debug logging is on by default while it's in RC so any problems are easier to track down.
If something goes wrong, please post a bug report on the mod page and attach your log file, found at:
Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\Managed\UnityModManager\Log.txt
This mod's lines are prefixed .
You can turn logging off later by editing Config.xml, but it's best left on for now so any bug reports are easier to diagnose.
Settings File
Your settings save automatically to Mods/ConfigurableLevelUpPoints/Config.xml, so you can also edit them by hand with the game closed if you prefer. A backup copy is kept in AppData in case the main file ever gets corrupted.
Disclaimer
This mod doesn't touch your game files directly; it works entirely through Unity Mod Manager. Still, use at your own risk and keep backup saves, especially if you enable the requirements-removal option.
Notes
Made for personal use, uploaded in case someone else wants it too.
