📋 About This Mod
Tweaks & tricks for Ranger (new), Paladin, Cipher and Barbarian. All in one place. Made for 3.9.3.88783 game version. 3.9.4 compatible, but read description.
Notice for 3. 9. 4:
Thankfully more than one report at this point state that it's compatible, which is great.
It doesn't cause any crashes at least.
That being said some game calculations or functionality might be off.
Offline GOG patcher encounters some errors when I try to patch the modified game so do take this into account.
...anyway:
Fun!
It's all to make classes slightly more dynamic in gameplay, hopefully without totally breaking progression.
Overall it does make affected classes more powerful, so don't expect carefully tuned balancing.
Also while doing it I figured out that bundling changes like that is the only way to make them compatible with one another.
Heavy on passives, but lite on active abilities? No longer!
Extra Ability Uses here and there with some becoming available much earlier than the last quarter of the game.
> In 1. 6 update I pretty much wrapped up some loose ends here and there. Mostly around Savage Defiance.
Went through quite grander change.
Faster casting for snappier switching between weapon fighting and spellcasting.
Spells reach further to support ranged ciphers.
Ability to self cast buffs for solo runs.
Spell table has been shuffled quite a bit and the list goes on...
> In 1. 6 update I reworked 2 spells I felt were underwhelming or janky in turn based mode.
Ever wanted to make less pure support holy warrior? Now you can.
Talents now grant extra ability uses. Gradually improving Flames of Devotion will net you up to 6 uses.
Ability to self cast buffs.
Paladin's AoE abilities affect paladin as well now.
> In 1. 6 I only gave Lay On Hands a little nudge, which borders on cosmetic xD
Ranger:
Ranger's builds always narrowed down toward use of one, single ability: Twinned Arrows.
I gave it a spin with hope to open up alternative build avenues for both early and late stage Ranger, as well as making weapons other than bows viable.
Table of Changes explains it better than I ever could.
> Companion changes are an optional add-on because I don't expect everyone to like kinda min-maxed/specialized boost I offered them.
Detailed Spreadsheets
:
Explains what exactly has changed compared to Vanilla, and last version. File, by file. Page by page.
(writing everything down here would drive me crazy)
Installation:
I always provide unmodded backup files in Miscellaneous section, though I usually recommend making some of your own.
File sets are modular for easier maintenance (possible bug fixes) and such.
Order of installation is irrelevant.
...
Download Talents, Abilities, Spells, all of the 'Main files' branch.
Unpack into:
\PillarsOfEternity_data\assetbundles\prefabs\objectbundle
Replace original files.
Requirements:
White March part 1 and 2.
It's made for game version 3. 9. 3. 88783
It works fine with 3. 9. 4, but... I mean it's.
