NSV-12.7

Крупнокалиберный пулемёт НСВ-12,7 «Утёс» был разработан в Тульском ЦКИБ СОО в конце 1960-х — начале 1970-х в качестве замены устаревшего и тяжёлого ДШК (ДШКМ). Своё название получил по начальным буквам фамилий авторов — Г. И. Никитина, Ю. М. Соколова и В. И. Волкова. Незадолго до этого тот же коллектив участвовал в конкурсе на единый пулемёт калибра 7,62 мм, но предпочтение было отдано образцу М. Т. Калашникова The NSV-12. 7 "Utes" large-caliber machine gun was developed in the Tula TSKIB SOO in the late 1960s - early 1970s as a replacement for the outdated and heavy DShK (DShKM). It got its name from the initial letters of the authors' surnames - G. I. Nikitin, Y. M. Sokolov and V. I. Volkov.
