Palbox Page Lock

Lock individual Palbox pages so the vanilla sort button leaves them alone.

Tired of hitting Sort and watching your breeding pairs or work assignment lineup get scattered across the box? Mark specific pages as protected. Everything else still sorts normally, locked pages stay exactly as you left them. And if you like, give your pages their own names.

Full co-op and dedicated server support. Both the host/server and every player need the mod.

Features

• []Lock button right next to the box name.[/]

  []Lock icon shows at a glance whether the page you're viewing is locked or unlocked.[/]

  []Info button briefly shows your locked pages below the box grid.[/]

  []Rename button: give any page its own name, shown in place of the box title (e.g. "Box 32 Breeding" or just "Breeding"). Names are stored locally.[/]

  []Your choice of buttons: show only the ones you want, in the order you want.[/]

  []Per world: each save keeps its own locked pages and page names.[/]

  []New pals (caught, hatched, ...) that land on a locked page are moved to the first free slot of an unlocked page the next time you open the Palbox. Optional, on by default.[/]

  []Expeditions: pals on locked pages are excluded from the Expedition Station's Auto Assign. Optional, on by default.[/]

  []Automatically detects your game's language. Currently available: German and English.[/]

  []Compatible with Palbox-expansion mods, as long as they keep the vanilla layout of 30 slots per page.[/]

  Usage

  Use the buttons left of the box name, or the keybinds:

  • []F9: lock/unlock the page you're currently viewing[/]

    []CTRL+F9: rename the page you're currently viewing[/]

    []F10: briefly show your locked pages below the box grid[/]

    []CTRL+F10: unlock all of your pages at once[/]

    []CTRL+H: popup with your full locked-pages list and current keybinds[/]

  All keybinds can be changed in config.lua.

  Installation

  Steam Workshop users: subscribe on the Workshop instead, you don't need this download. Don't install both versions at the same time.

  Players

  • []Install the latest Palworld build of RE-UE4SS (experimental-palworld) if you haven't already.[/]

    []Extract the PalboxPageLock folder from the download into the UE4SS mods folder:

    []Steam:

    ...\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\[/]

    []Xbox app / Game Pass (PC):

    ...\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\WinGDK\ue4ss\Mods\[/]

  The result should be ...\ue4ss\Mods\PalboxPageLock\Scripts\main.lua

  []Start the game. The mod is enabled by the enabled.txt in its folder.[/]

  Tested with the Steam version. The Xbox PC version should work the same way. Consoles can't use UE4SS mods.

  Dedicated server

  The server needs the mod too, it stores every player's locked pages and protects them when sorting.

  Every player also needs the mod installed on their own game.

  • []Install the latest RE-UE4SS (experimental-palworld) into the server's ...\PalServer\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ folder.[/]

    []Extract the PalboxPageLock folder into:

    ...\PalServer\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\[/]

    []Restart the server.[/]

  On a rented server, upload the files through your host's file manager to the same folders. UE4SS needs a Windows server (or Wine/Proton on Linux).

  Updating

  Extract the new version over the old one. Your settings, locked pages and page names are kept.

  Uninstalling

  []If AutoExcludeFromExpeditions is on (default): set it to false in config.lua, start the game, open and close the Palbox once. This removes the Expedition exclusions the mod had set, otherwise those pals stay excluded from Auto Assign and you'd have to remove the exclusion by hand.[/]

  []Close the game and delete the PalboxPageLock folder from ...\ue4ss\Mods\.[/]
