What it does

Dupin Noct is introduced to the game as a wild Pal on The World Tree (Level 77 to 80), and also as a Level 65 boss (Lunatic Magician Dupin Noct) in the south region of Feybreak (coords -1164, -1653). The boss fight will also reward you with a new, exclusive Bounty Token that makes your Dark-type Pals stronger.

Alternatively, use the Breeding Farm and pair the original Dupin with any of the following partners: Dandilord, Frostallion Noct, Hoodle or Prixter. Dupin + Dupin Noct will also work, and pairing Dupin Noct with any of the previously mentioned Pals also creates Dupin Noct eggs.

🔹 A completely unique Dark and Fire-type Dupin variant that exists alongside the normal Dupin.

🔹 Dupin Noct has its own exclusive Active Skill, Prankster Show: Dark-type, it creates two illusions of itself and launches cyan flames that can cause Burn.

🔹 Dupin Noct's Work Suitabilities are the following: Medicine Production 7, Handiwork 5, Kindling 4, Lumbering 4, Mining 4 and Transporting 2. And the animations were modded to actually work!

🔹 The Partner Skill, Prank-Loving Fluffle, has three effects! While its Health is below 30%, Dupin Noct's own Attack increases, up to 80%.

🔹 When working at a Stone Pit, Logging Site or other related facilities, its work efficiency increases up to 60%, but its SAN drops up to 30% faster. It really hates hard work!

🔹 Catching/defeating the Lunatic Magician Level 65 boss rewards the Dupin Noct Bounty Token, that makes Dark-type Pals stronger.

🔹 Wild Dupin Noct on The World Tree drops the World Tree's materials.

🔹 Dupin Noct has a mischievous, mean face compared to Dupin.

🔹 Uninstalling the mod while you still own a Dupin Noct replaces them with a generic NPC placeholder that is invisible and can't fight or work. Nothing else is affected, and reinstalling the mod brings it back with its original stats.

Dupin Noct's palette is based on the Joker from Batman: The Animated Series from the 90's. It has been rethemed to be a mischievous prankster over a magician. Original assets belongs to PocketPair.

Localization was mostly made by splicing official PocketPair L10N texts from all languages, with some manual translations here and there. I actually do understand most Latin based languages, English, a bit of German and some Japanese. If something doesn't sound native to you, let me know and I'll fix it.

The boss fight is probably one of the less challenging ones from all my Pal Variants series if you're in the correct level range. I may rework it someday, but for now, it's more of a "normal difficulty" fight.

The mod has been extensively developed and tested since August 2026 (a month before Nexus release) during my own gameplay. It was made to feel both unique but also vanilla, and helped me a lot with the development of Pal Variants: Carnibora Libero, since it was my first attempt at giving new facial expressions to a Pal and also mixing Action Skill assets to create something new.
