📋 About This Mod
Max Level Extender raises the player and Pal level cap (default 200, up to a hard ceiling of 255) and lets you keep leveling past the vanilla reachable cap of 80. It ships with a small PalSchema data patch that extends the game's EXP table, so high-level leveling — including consumable EXP items such as the Training Manual (Book of Training) used on Pals above level 80 — works without crashing.
This mod has two parts and requires PalSchema:
-
[]The Lua mod (MaxLevelExtender) — raises the level cap on every world load.[/]
[]The PalSchema data patch (MaxLevelExp) — adds EXP-table rows for levels 101–255 so the game always has valid EXP data past the vanilla range, and extends the per-level player stat table so the status screen (TAB) works above level 100.[/]
Both are needed. Raising the cap alone is not enough: Palworld's built-in EXP table only defines levels up to 100, so once a character needs EXP data beyond that (which happens when using EXP consumables on high-level Pals, or when the game evaluates growth toward the raised cap) it reads a row that doesn't exist and crashes. The data patch supplies those rows.
Where to Install

[]Native Linux servers: Not supported. This mod uses UE4SS (both the Lua part and PalSchema), which relies on Windows-only DLL injection and cannot load on the PalServer-Linux-Shipping binary that most rented hosts run. Run the Windows server binary under Wine/Proton instead (see the Linux / Proton note under Installation). Windows dedicated servers work fine.[/]
[]Client only: No. Client-side leveling is not authoritative and may not persist.[/]
[]Server only: No. On a dedicated server, the server alone is not enough — the client also needs the mod, or the EXP bar will not move and can show a negative value.[/]
[]Client and server both required: Yes (dedicated servers). Install the mod on the dedicated server and on every joining player's PC.[/]
For single player or player-hosted co-op, install it on the host's PC. For a dedicated server, install it in the server's UE4SS Mods folder and on each client: the server enforces the raised cap and authoritative leveling, while the client needs the same EXP-table data to display progress correctly. With a server-only install, the client still uses the vanilla EXP table, so the EXP bar does not move and can show a negative value. Note that the whole thing depends on UE4SS, so a native Linux dedicated server cannot run it at all — use a Windows server, or the Windows
