📋 About This Mod

Adds Impact Resistance to Insulated and Lead-Plated car parts, and Impact and Explosion Resistance to Anticorrosive car parts, among other tweaks. Compatible with Dutch's conversion mods.

This mod is compatible with the Whispers in the Woods DLC update,

and Dutch's station wagon conversion mods.

This mod adds Impact Resistance to Insulated and Lead-Plated Doors, Panels, and Bumpers, and adds Impact and Explosion Resistances to Anticorrosive Doors, Panels, and Bumpers, all at slightly reduced values relative to their Steel and Armored counterparts.

Insulated & Lead-Plated Doors / Panels / Bumpers:

  • []Impact Resistance at 3 / 6 / 6%[/]

Anticorrosive Door / Panel / Bumper:

    • []Impact Resistance at 6 / 12 / 12%

      []Explosion Resistance at 3 / 6 / 9%[/]

This mod also slightly adjusts the Max Health and Damage Resistances of most doors, panels, and bumpers for better overall balance, in an attempt to make car part stats more proportional to their unlock costs. This means that low-tier parts (Crude & Steel) are slightly weaker but high-tier parts (Anticorrosive & Olympium) are generally stronger. This includes adjustments to the stats, but not resistances of, the Utility Bumpers (Powered, Nitro, etc.).

NOTE: The Main file includes a modified base.tune file, so it will conflict with/override other mods that also include a modified base.tune, such as those that do similar things to this mod (i.e., change car part stats). Aesthetic mods, inventory increase mods, or tool durability mods, are unlikely to conflict.

If you don't like my modified base.tune file, it's fairly easy to unpak my mod, make your desired changes to or mergers with my base.tune using a basic text editor like Notepad, and then re-pak the mod yourself.

Check the Images to see a full list of all changes made by the Main file.

The Optional files of this mod are compatible with Dutch's Remnant replacement mods, the conversion mods that replace the station wagon with either a Ferrari, DeLorean, or Ford Falcon. Simply download and use the Optional file appropriate to your vehicle of choice (but only use one at a time).

The Images include a screenshot of the base.tune file for the Ferrari version of the mod. Dutch made a few tweaks to the base.tune to work best with his changes (fuel and battery consumption rates, a few radio changes, and (importantly) the force with which the doors close; without the latter changes, you won't be able to close the car doors of the DeLorean or the Ford Falcon).

      Installation

Unzip the archive to extract your .pak file of choice.

Move your extracted .pak file into: PacificDrive\PenDriverPro\Content\Paks\~mods

If there’s no ~mods folder in …\Paks, make it yourself.

If you use one of the Optional files, be sure to use the one that matches the vehicle you'll be driving (the Ferrari, the DeLorean, or the Falcon). Having the wrong file active shouldn't cause crashes or anything, but the car doors may not close properly.

This mod would not have been possible without all the time, effort, and patience of fellow Pacific Drive modder, Maverick. Not only did they figure out the wizardry required to make a mod like this, but they also took the time to teach me how. Please go check out their many mods for Pacific Drive, Resident Evil, Elden Ring, and more!

      Future Plans

I've since lost interest in working on this mod, but I had plans to modify the Utility Bumpers and headlights to give them Damage Resistances (if at all possible). I started this process and it seemed feasible to add resistances to the LIMPulse Emitter, LIM Shield, and Nitro Boost Bumpers, but not the Magnetic Bumper. If that ends up being the case, then I'd likely instead modify the Magnetic Bump
