Instantly Take Items

Update May 2026:

I'm officially retarded. I was playing the Three Brothers version all along and didn't realize I wasn't playing the Definitive Edition. I updated all of my mods for the Definitive Edition and have play-tested them. About half of my mods definitedly needed updating, but I updated and uploaded all of them again to be safe. If you were having an issue with my mods, please try again with the updated version.

Please note: all of my mods only require the standard BepInEx to run. BepInEx Configuration Manager is recommended for configuration of my mods. A few of my mods also require Sideloader, if denoted. I haven't tested my mods with other Mod Managers, such as r2modman. I'm running Outward solely with BepInEx with all of my mods and a couple of mods from other Mod Creators as well. I recommend using the latest version of BepInEx (5. 4. 23. 5 at the moment), but older version should work perfectly fine as well. Happy gaming y'all and enjoy Outward while we wait for the second game to release =)

Update v1. 7:

Added an option to swap the Water Gathering approach: in vanilla Outward, you have to press the button to gather water and to hold the button to drink water, which I found counter-intuitive. With the Swap Water Gathering option (enabled by default), pressing the button makes you drink water and holding the button makes you gather water.

With this mod, items will instantly be picked up without having to hold the Action button.

In the Shared Mod Config Menu you can define, whether the hold button will appear when you gather wood from trees (enabled by default).

There is also an option to instantly open chests.

Please let me know when the mod does not work as expected.

BepInEx mod. Extract to Outward game directory.
