# Varla for Oblivion Remastered— Take Back Control of Your Character

Two console commands. Any save in. Any save out. Your character, intact.

Varla is an OBSE64 plugin for Oblivion Remastered that lets you extract a character from one save and reapply them to another. Stats, skills, custom spells, player-enchanted weapons, alchemy potions, discovered map markers, quest progress, appearance — the entire character, written to a plain-text file you can read, edit, and replay onto any save you choose.

## Why This Exists

Save files in Oblivion Remastered get heavier as you play. Quests bug out. A modlist change forces a fresh start. A bad decision two hundred hours ago slowly poisons everything that came after. The conventional answer is: live with it, or start over and lose everything.

Varla is the third option.

You don't have to be afraid of your save anymore. You don't have to be afraid of losing your progress, of escalating crashes, of corruption that compounds the longer you play. The goal of this plugin is full control over your character — to let you express yourself through your playthrough in ways that weren't previously possible:

- New Game Plus — replay the main quest with everything you earned

- Surgical character edits — fix a bad attribute roll, swap a class, retire a birthsign

- Save rescue — escape a corrupted save without leaving the character behind

- Quest do-overs — drop back to a clean save, redo a quest, keep your progress

- Inventory & house decoration transfer — all items present in a cell can now be saved, with position and tilt

- Human-readable backup — `save_dump.txt` is plain text; keep it alongside any save

## How It Works

Two console commands. That is the entire interface.

exportsave   — write OBSE\save_dump.txt from the loaded save

importsave   — apply OBSE\target.txt onto the loaded save

You control exactly what gets exported through `OBSE\varla.ini`. Want only stats and skills? Set those flags. Want the full character — gear, spells, quests, appearance, the entire chronicle of who they are? Set them all.

For the import, Varla only imports what is present in the target.txt and nothing else. You can import a lot of elements at same time, or make surgical changes.

- Attributes — all 8, base values

- Skills — all 21, base values

- Fame / Infamy / Bounty

- Game Time — days passed, current hour

- Global Variables — all TESGlobal values (visited 9 divine shrines, etc)

- Misc Statistics — kill counts, skill increases, etc.
