📋 About This Mod
Weirds me out they send a whole guy after you for the spellbook DLC and it has nothing to do with anything. Conjurers don't even carry scrolls!
I MADE A VERSION FOR THAT TOO.
This game is unbalanced and in vanilla you're possibly savescumming for a 25% chance at a spellbook instead of a scroll.
Instead you should be savescumming for the right book to drop.
DLCTomeConjurer
drops a leveled list item for any spellbook the DLC adds:
LL2DLCSpellTomesNPCLvl100
chance 0 = 100% drop rate, hence “100”
The default version of this mod has just those conjurers dropping books from any school. Optional section should have some alternate versions for flavor, but I balanced the main version around inobtrusiveness without encouraging any more save reloading than necessary.
I have modified the following NPC inventories to add this leveled list. By default they now drop 1 leveled spell tome.
ConjurerBossFemaleBreton
ConjurerBossFemaleHighElf
ConjurerBossMaleBreton
ConjurerBossMaleHighElf
ConjurerFemaleBreton3
ConjurerFemaleBreton4
ConjurerFemaleHighElf2
ConjurerFemaleHighElf3
ConjurerFemaleHighElf4
ConjurerMaleBreton2
ConjurerMaleBreton3
ConjurerMaleBreton4
ConjurerMaleHighElf3
ConjurerMaleHighElf4
As such they will all now say unless this feature is removed with another mod.
This was just a proof of concept and I don't care about conflicts. Since it is literally just leveled lists added to NPC inventories, it should be a prime candidate for wryebash merge auto-detection and similar features.
I had to use Construction Kit with CSE to make this as explained in the remastered upload's post section, since I always have trouble
getting mods to save properly at first. They don't make the creation
kits plug-and-play to make mods that reference other mods or load multiple masters. I just wanted
to make a tiny tweak mod in an hour, but the goose chase has ignited my fire.
I promised my therapist I would work on mods this week, but thankfully I started this organically when I encountered a "conjurer dungeon" this morning and they only dropped disappointment. I knew it was coming from the wiki, and was mulling over making a little tweak mod, but I had to truly suffer first. NO LONGER.
I tried it and it worked.
you install the mod very carefully. (I use a plugin manager but vortex will do it for you automatically)
This mod makes all generic Conjurers in Skyrim drop spell tomes, adding a leveled list to their inventories. It includes a vanilla-balanced version where Conjurers drop scrolls instead. Simple and lightweight, with 187 endorsements and recent updates.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fits lore—Conjurers should have tomes on them (187 endorsements back that up).
- Lightweight and simple, just a leveled list tweak, no script bloat.
- Two versions included: tomes for loot fiends, scrolls for balance purists.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects generic Conjurers—named NPCs or special bosses won't drop tomes.
- No MCM or config options; you're stuck with the author's loot distribution.
- Might unbalance early game if you farm Conjurers for high-level tomes.
For Skyrim players who think it's weird that Conjurers never carry spell tomes and want more immersive loot. Also for loot-focused players who enjoy farming specific enemy types. Skip if you want a full magic overhaul or need configurable drop rates.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you use a mod manager, just download and activate—no load order worries since it's a leveled list edit.
- Pick the scrolls version if you're playing with difficulty mods that make early game harsh.
- Check your other loot mods for conflicts—this one edits leveled lists, so load order matters if you have similar overhauls.
