v3. 1. 1 Update Notes
Bug fix - During sequence recording - lower FPS could cause the previously selected spell to be used as opposed to the spell that was just clicked. This small update should fix the issue. Please report in comments or bug sections if you still notice an issue at lower framerates. I've tested 3. 1. 1 capped between 20-30 FPS and had success.
v3. 1. 0 Update Notes
Previous users (v3. 0. 5) - please expand and read full notes below. Critically, this update eliminates a window flash / focus steal that was happening when writing per-character data. Below spoiler also contains information on how to update and previous cache data migration.
Fixed:
Eliminated a window flash / focus steal that was happening when writing per-character data. A cmd.exe window was
spawning in order to create/handle the player specific folders for each cache. This was the cause of the taskbar flash / brief
focus loss some users reported when cycling after loading a save or clicking in magic menu.
Changed:
Per-character data now lives in SpellCycler/PlayerData/ with filename prefixes:
<CharName>_spellcache.ini
<CharName>_sequences.ini
<CharName>_quickslots.ini
Instead of one subfolder per character.
The PlayerData folder ships with the mod and must not be deleted.
Silenced the "Cache rebuilt" notification that was firing on the first cycle after every save load. Rebuild still happen
automatically.
The "Auto-rebuild failed" notification still appears when rebuild genuinely fails, and the manual detect_sequences hotkey still
reports the sequence and spell count.
Added self-healing for the PlayerData/player_data_do_not_delete.txt marker file. If the file is deleted accidentally but the folder is
intact, the mod recreates it silently at startup. Only a missing folder (which cannot be auto-created without reintroducing the
console flash) produces a user-visible warning.
Migration:
Data from v3. 0.x and earlier (subfolder layout, SpellCycler/<CharName>/*.ini) is read automatically on first load of a character and
written to the new layout.
Old subfolders are left in place as backups — safe to delete manually once you have confirmed your data is intact in PlayerData/.
