📋 About This Mod
Realistic Player Dialogue Overhaul by Publick Gamer for the original Oblivion improves conversations between the player and NPCs by changing single-word dialogue topics into actual complete sentences (e.g. "Rumors" becomes "Heard any good rumors lately?"). This mod acts as an expansion to the original and its Shivering Isles version by making similar edits to hundreds more lines of dialogue, from the base game, Knights of the Nine, and the official plugins. This should cover every single word player topic in the game. If you find any spelling/grammatical errors, or missed single word dialogue topics, please let me know in the bug reports section and I will do my best to rectify them.
INSTALLATION:
1. Install the original Realistic Player Dialogue Overhaul and Shivering Isles Player Dialogue Overhaul (you can delete the sound folder, as it can't be used in the remaster so I've reverted the dialogue it belonged to)
2. Install Realistic Player Dialogue Overhaul - Remastered and Expanded
3. Install NL-Tag Remover
4. Set your load order to this:

This gameplay mod for Oblivion expands on the Oldblivion mod, rewriting hundreds of dialogue lines to sound like natural, realistic conversations. With 102 endorsements and 17,448 downloads, it's a niche but popular choice for players seeking more immersive NPC interactions.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (17,448 downloads, 102 endorsements) shows players are actually using it.
- Hundreds of lines changed means a noticeable difference in how NPCs talk.
- Builds on Oldblivion, so if you liked that mod, this is a natural next step.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated September 2025, so it might not be compatible with the latest Oblivion patches or other dialogue mods.
- Only 102 endorsements—could be a niche mod that doesn't work well with other overhauls.
For Oblivion players who want more natural-sounding NPC dialogue without a full overhaul. If you're already using Oldblivion, this is a direct upgrade. Skip if you prefer the original voice acting or want gameplay changes—this is purely dialogue.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a dialogue mod, make sure it's loaded after other mods that change NPC dialogue to avoid conflicts.
- If you're using a mod manager like Wrye Bash or OBMM, install it manually or via archive to keep your load order clean.
- Test in a busy area like the Imperial City Market District to hear the new lines quickly.
