One-handed skill (no shield)

Mod Description

In Oblivion, fighting with a single one-handed weapon without a shield often feels underwhelming, as there is little benefit to not using a shield.

This mod changes that by introducing a new passive skill bonus that rewards the player for using only a single weapon.

Please let me know in the comments if you'd like different levels, or if the damage is too much or not enough.

Variants:

• []Leveled – A more immersive approach: you must kill a set number of enemies with a one-handed weapon to level up the skill.

  []Spell-based – You gain a spell that lets you adjust the bonus amount manually.

Due to Oblivion Remastered’s menu limitation of 9 choices, the bonus ranges from +2 to +10.

How to Activate

Simply equip a one handed weapon with no shield. You will automatically receive the spell and the quest will begin.

How to Install

This mod requires OBSE:

Drop the file OneHandedSkill.esp into the folder Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

Add OneHandedSkill.esp to the end of the file plugins.txt found in the same folder than above.

Use vortex.

How to Uninstall

• []Unequip all weapons from your character.

  []Wait a few seconds until the spell is removed.

  []Save your game.

  []Remove the mod (.esp file) or uninstall it via Vortex.

⚠️ Failing to follow these steps will permanently leave the bonus applied to your character.
