📋 About This Mod
My engine.ini file I come up with while trying to get Oblivion Remastered to run on GTX 1050.
With first .ini file GTX 1050 ran on 1280x720 with ultra performance upscaling bit short of 30 fps at Hackdirt. It disables all raytracing techniques that I found enabled by default and tries to limit texture streaming pool to size of VRAM. It's better to use GPU with at least 4GB for low textures. My 4GB GTX 1030 level GPU (Nvidia T400) performed better than GTX 1050.
To test this mod, I use NVidia T400. CPU is Ryzen 7 5700x3D so most burden is on GPU.
This is by no means a powerful GPU even GTX 760 outperforms it in every aspect.
Added new file that does not disable raytracing but lowers lumen settings for ray probing. After initial testing I recommend setting reflection to High at least.
*To get the game to recompile shaders (recommended), delete or temporarily move file Save_Settings.sav from your save game folder (I have Steam version of this game). This file contains your in-game settings. At compilation this file is recreated by game with settings game defaults to.
