Lydia in Cyrodiil - Follower Mod

Someone asked me to make Lydia for Oblivion, and since I'm a massive Skyrim stan, I decided to do it. Hopefully my fellow Skyrim stans will enjoy her too! Like in Skyrim, she's integrated into the main quest, and she'll join you after you save Bruma from the Oblivion Gate. Also like in Skyrim, she's sworn to carry your burdens. Of course she is, she wouldn't be Lydia otherwise.

Due to current limitations in Oblivion Remastered, she's only partly voiced with the default Nord Female voice. However, I discovered how to time unvoiced dialogue so that the subtitles don't disappear too quickly. If you're interested in the technicalities, check the "For Modders" section below.

  []She has her familiar Skyrim dialogue (all 50 lines of it, lol), adapted for Oblivion only where necessary (e.g changing "Jarl" to "Countess", etc.).

  []She's integrated into the main quest - complete Bruma Gate to recruit her.

  []If you compliment her several times, you can pop the question. You know the one. "Interested in me, are you?"

  []Can follow, trade, wait, and idle.

  []Sneaks when you sneak, draws when you draw, sits when you sit.

  []Can give you a repair hammer if you don't have any.

  []You can dismiss her to the Bruma Castle or any city house you own (if you fully furnished that house).

  []Convenience add-ons: tracker and summon spell.

  INSTALLATION

  • []Install UE4SS TesSyncMapInjector and its prerequisites. If you already have it, ensure it's updated to the latest version.

    []Extract the dk_HousecarlLydia.esp file and the sound and Sync Map folders into your OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data folder.

    []Add dk_HousecarlLydia.esp to the Plugins.txt file in the same folder. If you get crashes and you don't have the Deluxe edition of Oblivion Remastered, ensure that the altartdeluxe.esp file is at the very bottom of the plugin list.

    HOW TO START

    Complete Bruma Gate. A short while after, the quest to recruit Lydia will start.

    COMPATIBILITY NOTES

    Lydia borrows the appearance of the test NPC Lynda Carter. She makes no edits to Lynda, so there shouldn't be conflicts, but if another mod should happen to change Lynda's appearance, Lydia would be affected too.
