Full background story:

"Lilith Varkyn is not like the others of her kind."

When Mehrunes Dagon's forces struck at the heart of the Empire and the Emperor fell, she felt something no Dremora should ever feel: doubt. Not fear, not hesitation - true doubt. A sense that the balance between the realms had been pushed too far, that the Planemeld her kin desired would not bring glory, but annihilation. Not only for mortals, but for the Dremora themselves.

For speaking these thoughts aloud, she was branded a traitor.

For refusing to take part in the assault on the Dragonfires, she was hunted.

And for attempting to warn mortals, she risked everything.

Lilith surrendered herself to the Imperial Watch at the gates of the City, laying down her Daedric blade and demanding to speak to someone "with authority and a mind not clouded by fear." What followed was a long night of interrogation - first by the Watch Captain, then by a Blades agent summoned in haste. She revealed details of the Mythic Dawn's plans, their movements, their rituals, and the role her own kin were meant to play in the coming catastrophe.
