Easy Escape - Remap Mouse4 to Escape - AutoHotKey Script

Do you also feel like the Escape button is too far from your hand position and is inconvenient to reach? I have a simple but solid solution.

An AutoHotKey script that makes Mouse4 behave as the Escape button. Active only when the game window is in focus.

Requires AutoHotKey version 2. 0.

Install instructions:

• []Download and install AutoHotKey v2. 0 from https://www.autohotkey.com

  []Download this mod and extract its content to any location (I keep it on my desktop for easy access).

  []Double-click on EasyEscape.ahk to run it. Now, if you check your Windows tray, you should be able to see a green H icon labeled "EasyEscape.ahk" when you hover your cursor over it. This means the script is now running.

  []Run the game and enjoy. Note that you need to do step 3 every time after a PC restart, as the script does not run automatically.

  To stop, right-click on the green H icon in your Windows tray and select "Pause" or "Exit".

  The script only works when the game window is in focus, so you can use mouse4 normally when other windows are in focus.
