City Watch is a simple and immersive follower system, allowing you to recruit guards if you have the skills .. or the coin.

• []Guards will escort you for 12 hours before returning home.

  []Recruitment is simple, balanced, and seamlessly integrated using speechcraft, mercantile, personality, and disposition.

  []Guards observe your crimes, but will forgive small amounts of petty crime.

  hint: if things go south, always remember ... the dead keep secrets

I like to play with No Crime Teleport but it can cause some weirdness

Guards are useful

They are not interested in holding your stuff, but do have useful behavior that extends beyond vanilla

They will

• []use torches when appropriate

  []ride horses if they have one

  []adjust their behavior to support sneaky playstyles

  []regen hp when out of combat

  []remove their helmet when it is safe to communicate low hp  ( standard helmets only atm )

  Recruitment Basics

  • []Talk to a guard and select Recruit

    []If you own a home in their city, they will always help

    []Otherwise, you are given up to 3 recruitment options: Bribe, Haggle, Persuade / Intimidate

  Bribe: expensive and reliable, low chance of aggression if they hate you

  Haggle: cheaper than bribe and easier than persuasion, improves with mercantile, apprentice+

  Persuade / Intimidate: free but hard, improves with speechcraft, apprentice+

  • []Persuade / Intimidate are two sides of the same coin, determined by your personality

    []Successful recruitment has a chance to increase your skills

    []Successes and failures affect disposition of that guard
