Skillbased Flora

Skill-based Flora makes harvesting ingredients in Tamriel less reliant on luck of the draw and more so on your skill as an Alchemist. You have two choices: A) In the aaaBorsFlora.esp plugin file, Oblivion\'s stock percentage chances are removed entirely. There are still some unknowns, however (see Plugin Notes for the Curious). Your skill bonus plays the only role in determine whether you get the ingredient or not. Whether you succeed or fail, regardless, you gain points to your next Alchemy skill level. These levels do, of course, become harder to attain as your Alchemy skill itself increases. B) In the aaaBorsFloraSeasonal.esp plugin file, Oblivion\'s stock percentage chances are left alone. (It\'s called Seasonal because the Oblivion engine was designed with the four seasons in mind. You get a percentage chance, based on the time of year, of success. Unbeknownst to myself at the time of writing the plugin, this idea must have been abandoned sometime during Oblivion development, because Bethesda now says that \"by convention, all four numbers are the same.\") This means you get your normal chance for success or failure (see above), with the added chance for failure based on the seasonal values set by Bethesda. Yes, added chance for failure. This is the more difficult of the two plugins, and is supplied for the sticklers for realism out there, because it\'s probably a bit more realistic than plants which bear fruit all year round. You still gain levels in Alchemy by gathering plants, as above. Enjoy!
