📋 About This Mod

Welcome to part 2 of the 50th installment of my Oblivion Immersion Series.

This covers the Colovian cities of Anvil, Chorrol, Kvatch, and Skingrad.  Here's a stylistic breakdown of each city:

"Buildings here look different. Why? This is the Gold Coast style, like in Hammerfell. Eastern towns look grey and dull to me."

- Wilbur

Anvil's hot climate and proximity to Hammerfell means that its influence can be seen in its clothing, not just in architecture.  Expect to see many sailors and ship captains wearing naval hats and the Redguard locals in loose but colorful outfits.   Head to Lelles' Quality Merchandise to buy clothing, especially Hammerfell clothing.

Chorrol

"We're a mountain people, tough, independent. County Chorrol is rich in mines and timber, wool and mutton, and hard-working people."

- Countess Arriana Valga

Chorrol's mountainous and northerly location suggests that it gets much colder there than in much of Cyrodiil.  Here, the people dress for practicality and warmth.  Expect to see the iconic Colovian fur helm here, and cloaks on upper-class men.  Head over to Northern Goods and Trade to purchase clothing.

Kvatch

"We had everything here. Beautiful gardens. Fresh mountain air. Did you know Kvatch had the only Arena in Cyrodiil outside the Imperial City? All gone now, though. Just smoke and mud and rubble."

- Guilbert Selone

Similar to Anvil, the Mediterranean climate discourages the use of heavy furs like northern clothing, so expect to see influence from Hammerfell.  No clothing is available here for purchase.

Skingrad

"Skingrad's wines are the best in Tamriel I invite you... try them for yourself. Here, it is perfect for grapes, and perfect for wine. The sun and soil here are like my native Hammerfell, but the climate is milder, and the rainfall more reliable."

Yet another city in Colovia with a Mediterranean climate, but it's landlocked.  Wealthy and cosmopolitan, Skingrad enjoys the benefits of Nibenese mercantile prosperity while keeping a distinctly western style.  Expect to see things like Colovian fur helms and extravagantly dressed snooty nobles.  Colovian Traders is the place to go to buy clothing.

Note:  I never got the wig conversion to work as I had hoped, so instead, I am offering two different versions of this mod.  One version adds several new hair styles playable for all races except the Khajiit and Argonians.  Most of the added styles are female-exclusive, but one is unisex and one is male-only.  A handful of upper class characters (mostly women) have had their hairstyles changed to showcase the new ones added.  If you want to change your hairstyle to one of the new on

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (16,994 downloads, 75 endorsements) shows it's being used and appreciated
  • Fills a niche for players who want more regional variety in clothing without breaking immersion
  • Lightweight cosmetic addition—no major gameplay changes, just visual flavor

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in May 2021—may not be compatible with the latest Oblivion patches or mod setups
  • Only covers western Cyrodiil, so players wanting whole-province overhauls will need other mods
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who love lore-friendly immersion and want to see more regional clothing variety in Colovia. If you're a roleplayer or a modder building a themed load order, this is a nice touch. Skip if you want gameplay changes or full-province overhauls—this is purely cosmetic and region-specific.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a simple mod, just drop the files into your Data folder and activate the .esp in the Oblivion Launcher or your mod manager.
  • If you use a mod manager like Wrye Bash or OBMM, install it through that to keep your load order clean.
  • Check for compatibility with other clothing mods that alter the same stores or NPCs—load order might matter if you have multiple overhauls.
