📋 About This Mod
1k textures (because Oblivion is old and doesn't need higher than that to look alright) for various containers
Hadn't come across any textures for the barrels and other containers in Oblivion (I imagine there are several but I couldn't find them in my searches) and I don't like vanilla's lower res. This is a work in progress but I will be adding to this as I do more. In game these won't seem out of place as i've done my best to match them close to vanilla feel but still improving on it slightly (these are new textures not just the vanilla ones recoloured)
I know my textures aren't the very best (hence the name of all my texture mods) I won't say these are the best even as my skills improve because I don't want to over promise and under deliver) but I am trying to improve and I feel like I am slowly improving. I also take requests for overlooked items to help me improve my skills and to help give new textures to overlooked items.
Should be compatible with everything that doesn't retexture these as they're just textures

Reb's Average Containers is a 1k retexture mod for barrels, sacks, and other containers in Skyrim. It's a work in progress with more items being added. With 150 endorsements and 36k downloads, it's a modestly popular cosmetic upgrade for players wanting sharper, more detailed containers without performance hits.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download count (36k) shows it's being used by a decent chunk of the community
- 1k textures are performance-friendly for mid-range rigs
- Active WIP means more containers could be on the way
⚠️ Cons
- Only 150 endorsements compared to 36k downloads—lots of silent users, but not a lot of vocal support
- Still a WIP, so some containers are left vanilla-looking
- No screenshots or install instructions in the description—you're flying blind until you try it
For Skyrim players who want a subtle visual upgrade to common containers without sacrificing FPS. If you're a texture hoarder or just tired of blurry barrels, this is a quick grab. Skip if you want overhaul-level changes or need every container covered.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Drop the files into your Data folder or use a mod manager—either works, but a manager makes uninstalling easier.
- Since it's a texture replacer, load order doesn't matter much, but put it after other texture mods to ensure it overwrites.
- Check the mod's page periodically for updates—the author is actively adding more containers.
