📋 About This Mod

This mod makes level-scaled rewards from quests be upgraded to their higher versions as you reach the level for those versions. Firstly, an introduction. The items, spells, and sigil stones you get as rewards for many quests in the game are scaled to your level. Some of the these rewards are among the best items in the game... but only if you do the quest at a high level. Otherwise, you get stuck with a scaled-down version, often one that is no good later in the game, and lose out on one of the best items in game. For example, if you were to get an item with level 1, 5, 10, and 15 versions at level 4, you would get the weakest (level 1) version. Normally, you are stuck with that, and the higher versions of the reward, often among the best items in the game, are lost forever. Same if you do the quest at levels 5 or 10 - you still lose out on getting the best item. The only way to get the best item is to do the quest at the latest time possible. This plugin, however means you can do the quest at any time, as when you go up to the level for a different version of the item, the item is upgraded to that version. Now you aren\'t punished for doing a quest too soon. For example, the Escutcheon of Chorrol shield. It has level 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 versions. If you do that quest at level 10 (or 11, 12, 13, or 14), you would normally miss out on the level 15, level 20, and level 25 versions. This plugin means that when you reach level 15, if the item is in your inventory, it is upgraded to the level 15 version. Same at level 20 and level 25. You don\'t miss out on the high-level versions. You don\'t have to have the item on you at the time you level up. If you don\'t, it will be upgraded the next time you pick it up and leave the menu (note that there may be a small delay before the updating script acts). The only known problem with using this plugin is that it makes removing scaled spells gotten from a quest from your spell list through the console (or otherwise) impossible, as the spell is immediately added again. This only affects scaled spells from quests that this plugin works on, not weapons, apparel, or anything else. This does not mean you will be stuck with the lower-level versions of the spells as well when the spell upgrades - those are removed. The full list of items and spells this plugin works on is in the readme file. It works on all sigil stones. Upgrading of the Finger of the Mountain spell has been moved to a separate file to be loaded in (if wanted) along with the main one. This way, people can select whether they want it upgraded or not. There are no known plugins with which this conflicts. --- Changelog --- Version 1. 0 - Initial Release Version 1. 2 - Added Sigil Stones to things updated. Version 1. 3 - Corrected bug where Finger of the Mountain is not updated if the quest is completed by giving the book to the wrong person first (the person who is not running the Chorrol guild hall). 📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 1,306 endorsements and nearly 50k downloads — clearly a well-loved tweak.
  • Solves the classic problem of outleveling quest rewards, keeping them useful longer.
  • Lightweight and straightforward — no complex setup or extra mods required.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2008 — likely incompatible with modern game versions or mod setups.
  • Only affects quest rewards — if you're looking for broader loot overhaul, this won't cut it.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who hate getting useless quest rewards after leveling up. If you're tired of stashing that 'epic' sword because it's now weaker than a common drop, this mod is for you. Skip if you want a full loot rebalance — this only touches quest rewards.
