📋 About This Mod

Oblivion - Enhanced Camera by LogicDragon

Description ----------- This is an obse plugin that enables a visible body when in first person. Also, any points where the game force switches to 3rd person (sitting down, getting up, knockout/death, etc.) are now in 1st person.

Notes: - If you notice the camera clipping into nearby objects, setting fNearDistance to 5. 0 in the Oblivion.ini file may help. - Bug with flickering horses and Nvidia graphics cards: try disabling ambient occlusion in the graphics card settings.

Important When Updating: The name of the dll file was changed. Please ensure the old version is completely uninstalled before installing the new version to avoid conflicts.

Requirements ------------ This plugin requires Oblivion 1. 2. 0416 and OBSE version 20 or above.

Install ------- Extract the contents of this archive into your Oblivion's Data folder.

Uninstall --------- Delete "OBSE_EnhancedCamera.dll" and "OBSE_EnhancedCamera.ini" from your "DataOBSEPlugins" folder.

Compatibility ------------- This mod should be compatible with almost everything except for other mods that modify the 1st person camera. Mods replacing 1st/3rd person animations should work but some animations may not look right. Animations from Maskar's mods (BPN, BPH) should work in 1st person.

Note for Modders: This plugin allows for compatibility with mods that switch to third person to play animations so they can now be played in first person. All that is required is to run "ToggleFirstPerson 0" and "player. PickIdle" within the same frame. Then the animation should play in a fake first person mode. After the animation is done playing, use "ToggleFirstPerson 1" to restore first person view.

Known Issues ------------ Some animations might not work as well with head bob disabled and may move the feet oddly. Sneaking with head bob disabled may seem like you're floating.

Change Log ---------- 1. 4b -Fixed head tracking not working in 3rd person.

1. 4a - Fixed a bug when loading a saved game when in the dialogue menu.

1. 4 * Name changed to match Fallout versions. Please ensure previous versions are completely uninstalled to avoid conflicts. - There is no more head bob (can be re-enabled in the ini). - Can now see your arms when weapons are sheathed. - Your body is now visible when dead or knocked out. - Added ability to rotate the camera during sitting/knockout animations. - New ini settings to set how far down you can see while sitting/horseback. - Fixed a rare bug where the body

Oblivion - Enhanced Camera is an OBSE plugin that gives you a visible body in first-person view and keeps you in first-person during forced third-person moments like sitting or dying. With over 15,000 endorsements and 522,000 downloads, it's a proven immersion enhancer for Oblivion players.

✨ Key Features

Adds a visible body when in first-person view.
Prevents the game from switching to third-person during actions like sitting or death.
Requires OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) to function.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge community trust: 15,723 endorsements and 522k downloads show it's a must-have for immersion fans.
  • Tackles a common annoyance—forced third-person—so you stay in your character's eyes the whole time.
  • Lightweight OBSE plugin, so it's easy to install and doesn't bloat your load order.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2014, so it may have issues with newer mod setups or patches.
  • Requires OBSE, so you'll need to set that up first if you haven't already.
  • No detailed documentation included, so you might need to figure out compatibility on your own.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who want full first-person immersion and hate being yanked to third-person when sitting or dying. If you're into roleplaying or just want a more personal view, this is for you. Skip if you're fine with vanilla camera behavior.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure OBSE is installed and launched via obse_loader.exe, not the default Oblivion.exe, or the mod won't work.
  • Check your load order—this plugin should be active, but it doesn't need a specific position; just ensure it's enabled in your mod manager.
  • If you use other camera mods, test them together; Enhanced Camera may conflict with mods that alter first-person view.
