📋 About This Mod
No _______ music mod for TES:IV Oblivion _____________________________ 1. What does this mod do? ---------------------------- Replaces your choice of original soundtrack files with blank ones. This can increase immersion and intensity of some areas, especially dungeons. The purpose of this mod is to enable music for SOME areas, while disabling it in others. If you hate the dungeon music, explore music, city music, or battle music (or any combination of those), you may have tried deleting them. When you did that, you may have found that the music that you didn\'t delete plays in the wrong areas. You may just want scarier dungeons and more realistic exteriors, but you don\'t want to get rid of the music you hear while in public locations (cities) If your answer is yes to any of the above, this mod is for you. This mod prevents you from having to adjust the music volume slider every time you go outside or into a dungeon if you do not want the music to play. _____________________________ 2. (Un)Installation ----------------------------- PLEASE BACK UP YOUR ..\\Oblicion\\Data\\Music folder before installing!!! You may do this by copying the folder and renaming it, adding it to an archive (zip, rar, 7z, etc.) or coping it to a different location. If you want to uninstall this mod, simply replace the contents of the music folder with the contents of the backup folder. If you forget to do this and happen to want the original music back, you can find it on the installation disk. I will not help you uninstall this mod. Replace the area type folders that you want to remove the music from with the folders contained in this mod. Self-explanatory if you\'re smart enough to download and open this mod =) ____________________ My personal recommendation is to replace all of the music folders except for cities.
This mod removes music from select area types including city, wilderness, dungeon, and battle. It is a simple audio modification for players who prefer silence or custom soundtracks. With only 8 endorsements and 176 downloads, it is a niche utility last updated in 2010.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Lets you silence annoying combat tracks without muting all audio
- Tiny download, no bloat—just does what it says
- Works for multiple area types, so you can pick and choose
⚠️ Cons
- Old mod from 2010—might not work with newer game patches or DLC
- Only 8 endorsements, so community testing is minimal
- No options to customize which music stays—it's all or nothing per area type
This is for players who find the game's music repetitive or distracting and want a quieter experience. It's also useful for streamers or modders who want to overlay their own music without fighting the game's tracks.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager, drop the files into the Data folder manually to ensure they overwrite correctly.
- Test in each area type (city, wilderness, dungeon, battle) to confirm the music is gone—some tracks might be tied to specific triggers.
- Since it's an old mod, consider using a compatibility patch or checking forums for any known issues with your game version.
