📋 About This Mod
Name: Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer Version: 1. 0 Date: 9/12/2008 Category: Models and Textures Author(s): Luchaire Source: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19738
Description =========== What it does:
This mod eliminates (Or at least drastically reduces) the visible seams on the Ec/HGEC body.
These seams are what cause the half & half coloring on the back & along the arms & inside of the legs and even around the neck.
Designed to work with the HGEC female body, but should provide improvement with virtually any body mod.
Details ======= How does it work:
The .egt files that came with the game for head & body were configured for the original bodies made by Bethesda. As new body styles & meshes were introduced, the old .egt files created seam discolorations an the wrists, neck, feet, inner legs & outer arms. This mod addresses this problem for the HGEC body. Now using the ingame face adjustments will not change the body textures in an extreme way.
NOTE! YOU CAN STILL GET SEAMS. This mod is not magical! But what it will do is let you much, much more easily remove those seams, often with minimal effort. It will also give you much more freedom to play with the face color sliders (such as beard, lips, and eyes) without screwing up the body. The down side of this freedom is that it does limit your ability to create wildly different body colors.
Installation ============ The basic installation is just the .egt files. This will improve seams. However, for the best possible results, it is HIGHLY recommended that you use the included optional HGEC textures, which are modified versions of Ozmo's high-res HGEC textures (modified/used by permission). Using any other textures will minimize the gains you can achieve with this mod.
What is included?
In the "TEXTURES_OPTIONAL" folder: Human Race Textures: footfemale.dds footfemale_n.dds handfemale.dds handfemale_n.dds headhuman.dds headhuman_n.dds
Elf Race Textures: footfemale.dds footfemale_n.dds handfemale.dds handfemale_n.dds headdarkelf.dds headdarkelf_n.dds
In the meshes folder: body.egt upperbodyhumanfemale.egt headhuman.egt
How to install: 1. Extract the files to a temporary location. 2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary. 3. Copy the "meshes" folder to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 4,085 endorsements—clearly a fix that many players needed
- Tackles a specific, annoying visual bug that breaks immersion
- Lightweight and focused—does one thing and does it well
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2008—may not be compatible with newer Oblivion versions or mod setups
- Only works with EC/HGEC body—useless if you use a different body replacer
For Oblivion players who use the HGEC body mod and are tired of those ugly seams ruining their character's look. Skip this if you don't use HGEC or if you're on a modern mod setup that might have already fixed this issue.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the HGEC body mod installed first—this is a patch, not a standalone body
- If you're using a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash, install this after your body mod to ensure it overwrites correctly
- Check the file structure—if it includes textures, back up your originals in case you want to revert
