📋 About This Mod
I use amazing Cyrodiil ENB by montegris and have one little visual issue - light beams in dungeons are too bright. It doesn't look realistic and breaks immersion for me. This retexture was made to solve the problem. The textures are darker than vanilla ones, so light beams become soft and pale and look much better with ENB.
UPDATE: Added optional textures for vanilla dungeon mist clouds (made by request).
INSTALLATION: Unpack the archive and drop Textures folder to your Oblivion/Data. Merge folders and overwrite files if needed. Use Archive Invalidation function of OBMM.
A compact texture mod for Oblivion that desaturates light beams and dungeon mist for Cyrodiil ENB users. With 159 endorsements and 18,126 downloads, it's a niche but popular choice for players seeking a more muted, atmospheric look. Last updated in 2016, so compatibility with current setups may vary.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community trust (159 endorsements) and high download count (18k) for a texture tweak
- Simple, focused purpose: tones down the overly bright light and mist effects for a more natural look
- Lightweight and easy to install—just drop the textures in
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2016—might not play nice with newer ENB versions or game patches
- No install instructions or compatibility notes from the author, so you're on your own
- Only affects light beams and dungeon mist—if you want broader ENB tweaks, this won't cover them
For Oblivion players using Cyrodiil ENB who find the default light shafts and fog too bright or saturated. If you're after a more subdued, gritty atmosphere without overhauling your whole ENB setup, this is a quick fix. Skip if you don't use ENB or want more comprehensive visual changes.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Cyrodiil ENB installed first, as this mod only replaces textures for that specific setup.
- Back up your original texture files before overwriting, so you can revert if you don't like the look.
- If you're using a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash, you can install this as a package to keep track of it easily.
