Imperial City LOD - Performance Edition
I've always been bothered by the nothingness inside the walls of the Imperial City. Strangely, even with the release of the Knights of the Nine addon, Bethesda didn't address the issue, despite making the artistic choice to place the player directly above the White Gold Tower, so we can enjoy the view of weird patterns on the barren ground below. Existing mods that add LOD inside the IC walls come with a disastrous performance impact, as they add complex meshes for every building in the IC.
This mod finally offers a solution, adding lightweight LOD behind the IC walls. It uses a single merged mesh for each district (9 meshes in total), and each mesh contains only one NiTriShape. This means almost no additional drawcalls and a negligible performance impact -- unless you are using a really old GPU that cares about a slight increase in scene poly count.
slowLODGen or TES4LODGen is required. Run it after the mod installation.
