📋 About This Mod

Having always been frustrated about the lack of variety in many of the vanilla game's dialogue and NPCs, especially being irritated by NPCs like Istirus Brolus or the residents of Blankenmarch who had zero dialogue at all, I decided an overhaul was in order.

It's a work in progress and for now only covers some of the voice types,

but I've made sure the mod starts on a strong note,

with plenty of interesting, emotional and hilarious dialogue awaiting you.

Not to mention 14 brand new characters! (as of the latest version)

You'll meet Khlo (Rasheda's determined smithing apprentice), Palladius Quintus (book expert and bookshop employee),

Zola (a fed up member of the Fighters Guild), Jo'Zahk (the elderly Khajiit with a tragic past) and many more people!

This mod's core values are to enrich the base game with a wider pool of dialogue with the original voices, making already-existing characters far more interesting and to breathe new life into the game with brand new characters complete with refreshing personalities and unique thoughts.

It is a lightweight mod not seeking to add significant content like quests, nor to disrupt the game's overall balance or functionality.

This mod is designed out of the box to be Unofficial Patch friendly; in fact, the Unofficial Patch is a requirement for this mod to work. (Some fresh highly quality dialogue has been created for Candice Corgine, so I took the liberty of giving her higher quality innkeeper dialogue too. Just overwrite the original UOP files and you're good to go.)

NEW IN VERSION 1. 1 and later:

New dialogue for:

Nordinor (Bravil)

Karinnarre (Bruma)

Inius Colus (New Arkay chapel Primate added in Knights of the Nine - Cheydinhal)

Collatinus Vedius (Imperial City)

Vandorallen Trebatius (Skingrad)

As well as six characters new to this version located in: Anvil, Bruma, the Imperial City and Wawnet Inn!

Here is a brief list of some of the mods initial debut dialogue additions, excluding new characters:

New full dialogue for:

Shelley of Cheydinhal; she has lengthy dialogue detailing her childhood

New hellos, greetings and topic dialogue for the male Bretons of Blankenmarch

Istirus Brolus from Bruma

Salomon Geonette from the Imperial City, exploring his music career

Colin Stedrine, a worker at Anvil Castle

Lyra Rosentia of Bruma, including thoughts on her close friend Jo'Zahk

Candice Corgine, including a greeting and her thoughts on the area around Pell's Gate

Edgar Vautrine of the Imp

Immersive Character and Dialogue Expansion adds new NPCs and dialogue across Cyrodiil using high-quality voice synth tools. With 176 endorsements and 19,249 downloads, it's a modestly popular mod for Oblivion players seeking fresh encounters and conversations.

✨ Key Features

Adds a new wave of characters and dialogue across Cyrodiil
Uses high-quality voice synth tools for voice acting
Aims to spice up travel with new interactions

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Decent community traction with 176 endorsements and 19k downloads
  • Voice synth means you get voiced dialogue without needing real voice actors
  • Adds variety to Cyrodiil's NPCs, making travel less predictable

⚠️ Cons

  • Voice synth quality can be hit or miss—some lines might sound robotic
  • Last updated in August 2023—might not be compatible with the latest Oblivion patches or mods
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who've explored Cyrodiil a hundred times and want fresh faces and conversations. If you're a lore purist, the synth voices might break immersion, but if you're just looking for new content, it's worth a shot. Skip if you want hand-voiced, fully lore-friendly additions.
