Fire and Anvil - Iron Longsword Replacer

This mod replaces the iron longsword and its scabbard with all-new models and textures, made from scratch with professional-level quality. The new design is based on the core features of the vanilla longsword, so the new models retain the same basic appearance as the original.

However, I've applied practical design logic, and a medieval weapon enthusiast's eye for detail. The result is a more realistic, visually appealing, and functional weapon.

Aside from their quality and stronger realism, the models should otherwise seamlessly blend into the rest of the game.

FEATURES -Completely new meshes (sword and scabbard), modelled and optimized for performance. -Quality UV mapping, which maximizes texture space. -New diffuse and normal maps, made using years of texturing experience. -New icons, carefully made to fit in with the vanilla game.

• REQUIREMENTS
• Some sort of archive invalidation, since Bethesda were too lazy to fix something as simple as texture loading.

INCOMPATIBILITIES Any mod that alters the iron longsword's meshes or textures.

INSTALL/UNINSTALL To install, drop the included mesh and texture folders into the "\Oblivion\Data" directory.

To uninstall, delete these files:

\Data\Meshes\Weapons\Iron\Longsword.nif \Data\Textures\Menus\Icons\Weapons\IronLongsword.dds \Data\Textures\Menus50\Icons\Weapons\IronLongsword.dds \Data\Textures\Menus80\Icons\Weapons\IronLongsword.dds \Data\Textures\Weapons\IronLongsword.dds \Data\Textures\Weapons\IronLongsword_N.dds

Or just use a mod manager and let it do everything for you.
