📋 About This Mod
DIBELLA\'S WATCH ALTERNATIVE START Version 2 August-October 2011 Dibella\'s Watch Alternative Start is an addition for the Dibella\'s Watch mod that lets you start an entire new character in the land of Dibella\'s Watch, bypassing the initial tutorial dungeon. Your new character then starts out in a small, depressing village in Scarleyshire in the south of the continent, where you get a small player house and some initial equipment. This mod also changes the way the Main Quest in Oblivion starts. Instead of meeting the Emperor and seeing him get assassinated, you will have seen him in a dream, and talking to the Blade soldier in Greenford Village will reveal more about the Oblivion Quest and the Amulet of Kings. REQUIREMENTS This mod requires Dibella\'s Watch (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37120) to function as intended. The Dibella\'s Watch Patch is recommended, although not required. INSTALLATION AND STARTING 1. Unzip the .esp and place it in your Oblivion/Data folder. 2. Activate the .esp in OBMM and load it BEFORE the Dibella\'s Watch Patch. If you don\'t have the patch installed, load the Alternative Start .esp BEFORE InGameMap and AnvilTransport. 3. Start a new game from the Main Menu. NOTES While using this mod, please deactivate any other alternative start mod you might have. Deactivate this mod if you want to start a game the normal manner again. Don\'t miss your player house with starting equipment, Greenford Home. There\'s also a cave to the east of the village called Scarecrow Cave. This dungeon has leveled bandits and enemies for your character to train on and gain some experience. Most of the villagers in Greenford are trainers, and the tavernkeeper functions as trader too. The official DLC quest updates do not start with this mod. \"The Orrery\" does however. Since I personally have no use for the official DLC components, I didn\'t give them any energy at all and instead concentrated on other aspects of this mod. During playtesting I noted a rare problem. At rare occasions the game wants to go into character generation before the Oblivion Intro Video is performed. The game starts as normal after a while, but it might seem strange. Restarting the game is one solution if you want to enjoy the intro video. This was, as said, a rare problem. There were some slight changes made to the dialogue in the Main Dibella\'s Watch Quest to make this mod fit into the story of that as well. CREDITS I read an article on the CS Wiki which inspired me and used the scripts in there(http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/WorldBuilding_101). I tweaked the scripting and other things substantially, but the article got me going on how to make the game skip the tutorial dungeon and let you create a new character in your own worldspace. The scripts were originally written by TheDCProject. PERMISSIONS You MAY FREELY use this mod for your own Oblivion modd
