📋 About This Mod
I\'ve never been a big fan of Oblivions\'s default swords - thick, chunky and lacking in deadlyness. I wanted the first rusty iron blade I picked up to look like it meant business. Then along came Adonnay\'s gorgeous medevil style swords, and CSR was born... The new 1. 2 release contains replacers for the iron, fine iron, steel, fine steel, silver and ebony longswords/ claymores, and their respective icons. It also includes an option to replace the SI\'s golden saint blades. Hopefully you\'ll find these a vast improvement over Oblivion\'s vanilla weapons.... ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. 2 - Added Fine Steel replacers Added Golden Saint replacers Corrected Ebony Longsword blade lighting 1. 1 - Added Fine Iron optional esp New icons for all the replaced weapons Edited iron blade texture 1. 0 - first release. Contains replacers for Oblivion\'s default Iron, Steel, Silver and Ebony Longswords/Claymores.
Classic Sword Replacers replaces Oblivion's default swords with medieval-style designs, aiming for a more deadly appearance. With 1,309 endorsements and 93,816 downloads, it's a popular cosmetic overhaul for players who dislike the vanilla weapon aesthetics. Last updated in 2008, it remains a classic choice for retro Oblivion modding.

✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,309 endorsements and nearly 94k downloads
- Fixes the chunky, unthreatening look of vanilla swords for a more realistic feel
- Lightweight cosmetic mod that doesn't alter gameplay
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2008 — may have compatibility issues with modern Oblivion versions or mod setups
- Only covers swords, leaving other weapon types untouched
For Oblivion players who want their swords to look like proper medieval weapons instead of the default chunky designs. Perfect for roleplayers and visual purists who prefer a more grounded aesthetic. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or weapon variety beyond swords.

- Check if you have other weapon texture mods that might conflict — load order matters in Oblivion.
- If you're using the Steam or GOG version, ensure you have the latest official patch installed for best compatibility.
