📋 About This Mod

Loadout buttons inside Oblivion Remastered's inventory menu - one press stores everything you wear into that loadout's own chest and brings the other set back, worn. D-pad, triggers and mouse, in the game's own menu. OBSE64 plugin.

Description

Simple Loadout System puts a row of loadout boxes inside the game's own inventory menu - below the category

tabs, above the category title - and makes switching gear one press. It is the Skyrim mod of the same name

carried to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered as an OBSE64 plugin.

Pick a box and everything you are wearing and wielding goes into that loadout's own storage, out of your

inventory and its weight. Pick a box that already holds gear and it all comes back and is equipped. While a

loadout is active, whatever you wear IS that loadout: equip and unequip as you like, and the next switch stores

what you have on at that moment. The item list updates the instant you press.

Generative AI disclosure: this mod's code, its translations, this page's text and its banners were produced with generative AI (Claude), directed and tested in game by the author. The page is tagged accordingly.

Main features

- Part of the inventory menu. Five boxes (up to ten, named as you like in the INI) drawn with the game's

own menu art, in the menu's own layout - not an overlay. They come and go with the menu.

- One press. Store what you wear, or bring a loadout's gear back and wear it. Weapons, armour, clothing,

rings, amulets and ammunition travel; enchantments, charges and item health travel with them. Quest items

are only taken off, never stored.

- Controller first. D-pad Up from the top row of the item list reaches the boxes, Left / Right move along

them, A selects, Down or B return to the list, LT / RT still change the category. The mouse clicks a box too.

- Its own storage, in your save. Ten chests in a sealed cell of the mod's plugin; nothing is written

anywhere else, and the active loadout is a global the save keeps.

- The game's own calls, on the game's own thread. Equipping and unequipping run through the engine's

Actor functions on the TES simulation thread, and the list is rebuilt by the game's own function - no

private copy of the inventory, no re-implemented menu.

- Eleven languages. The default box names follow the game's language: English, French, German, Italian,

Spanish, Polish, Czech, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

Installation instructions

- Two parts ship in the download, both under OblivionRemastered\: the OBSE plugin (Binaries\Win64\OBSE\Plugins\)

and the storage plugin SimpleLoadoutSystem.esp (Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\).

- Install with your mod manager or drop the OblivionRemastered folder over the game's own. Mod Organizer 2 users

need Root Builder for the OBSE plugin, as for every OBSE64 mod - and the .esp has to reach the real Data folder

as well (the game's plugin loader does not read through MO2's virtual folder); Root Builder does that when the

file sits under Root\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\.

- Mod Organizer 2: keep a second copy of SimpleLoadoutSystem.esp at the top level of the mod's folder

(beside Root\, not inside it). MO2 only lists - and only keeps in plugins.txt - the plugins it sees there, and

removes any other plugins.txt line when it starts or closes. Without that copy the loadouts stop working on

the next launch, with no error.

- Enable SimpleLoadoutSystem.esp in your load order. It adds one cell and ten chests and edits nothing. If no

loadout box shows as active after loading a save and pressing one does nothing, the plugin is not loaded -

check it is still enabled.

- Start the game through OBSE64. Requires OBSE64 and Address Library for OBSE Plugins.

Debugging

Fastest route: the Apocrypha Realm Modding Hub on Discord - post in the forum

matching your report (bug-reports, feature-requests, patch-requests, mod-conversion-requests)

and attach the log; submissions there feed the pipeline directly.

Send the log for any bug you find:

Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\OBSE\Logs\SimpleLoadoutSystem.log

It is written at info; set uLogLevel=1 in SimpleLoadoutSystem.ini to capture every store and equip call, then

reproduce. SimpleLoadoutSystem.selfcheck.txt beside the DLL says what the plugin found.

The debug symbols (.pdb) ship inside this download, so a crash log names this mod's functions.
