Maiq the Liar for Advanced Followers Remastered

M'aiq the Liar has always played a limited role in Elder Scrolls games. You see him standing around in certain places in Skyrim and Morrowind, and he always has his clever comments on an assortment of topics.

In Oblivion it's pretty much par for the course as well, except this time he runs like the wind, and is pretty hard to catch,...if you even can.

His default speed setting is 100. No wonder.

What's worse, is that he is constantly moving back and forth between Anvil and Leyawiin, and who knows when you might see him again. Not to mention he is always wearing that same tattered robe of his.

That's where this mod comes in.

You see, I'm a pretty big fan of Advanced Followers Remastered by SpiderAkira , and have been using it for weeks.

Kudos to SpiderAkira.

I love being able to cast a spell on a shop keeper or whoever I choose, and have them go on a quest with me, and then one day I thought, why not make some modifications to M'aiq and have him come along for some quests?

So here is what I did.

M'aiq's travel AI package is removed, he no longer runs back and forth between Anvil and Leyawiin like a yo-yo on Skooma, and now spends his time wandering around the Anvil docks area which is how I've set him up.

We need to keep M'aiq in a general area at all times to make him available when we want him. So there's that.

Then I got rid of his tattered robes and shoes, and gave him an entire suit of ebony armor, shield, and longsword. Yeah...

Then I added a couple of game settings to his plugin to make sure that you can never make him mad and turn on you as an enemy.

That should do the trick.

I also set his responsibility setting to 0, so he doesn't report your crimes.

Oh, and it gets even better. I changed his voice to the AltVoiceFaction version, instead of the using the existing one.

I personally like the AltVoiceFaction version of his voice MUCH better.

Which also makes this compliant with the Unofficial Oblivion Remastered Patch - UORP if you happen to use that.

Be sure this mod loads lower in your load order than UORP for all the changes to take effect.

That shouldn't be a problem since UORP is supposed to be near the top anyway.

Also, I made two different versions to suit more people. The regular one keeps all of his original stats, while the "100 stats" version

changes ALL of his stats to 100, and increases his health and fatigue to 500. Making him a pretty powerful ally. <
