📋 About This Mod
A custom face texture for 9S. I figured I should make a brown skin variant too.
With the brown skin version, I also made a '2P' palette recolor for 9S.

remade the albedo map, to further match the official '9P' costume in the Switch version of the game
the old screenshots are still up for comparison purposes but these are the most noticeable changes:
>added more color to the buttons
>cleaned up the gloves and boots, the straps are now darker.
added an option to play as 9P with the vanilla (black) uniform
some users may remember seeing the "Hair Colors for 9S" mod some time ago, and i've decided to pull that out and put it up for download again.
its in the optional files section.

This mod page will be updated soon as im planning to do a similar "More Recolors" mod for 9S.
It would take some time as mixing up certain color combinations would be a bit tricky, and I dont want 9S' coat/jacket to be just one solid recolor.
Possibly 8 recolors to choose from, 4 normal recolors, 4 pastel recolors.

You only need the Special K / FAR plug-in to use this mod.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and focused: does exactly what it says, no bloat.
- Decent community traction for a niche cosmetic (61 endorsements).
- Lightweight texture mod—won't impact performance.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated January 2023—may not be compatible with the latest game patches.
- Only affects 9S's face, so if you wanted more visual changes, this won't deliver.
For Nier: Automata players who want a fresh look for 9S or want to roleplay as 9P. Skip if you're looking for gameplay tweaks or major visual overhauls—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a texture mod, you'll need to replace the original texture files—back up the originals first.
- Check if the mod requires the FAR mod or any special setup; if not, just drop the files into the game directory.
- If you're using a mod manager, make sure to enable the mod after installing to avoid conflicts.
