The game originally prohibits the use of certain words in the player's username,
likely due to the online functionality which can show your username in other player's game in various situations.
This mod removes ALL prohibited words for all supported languages.
Installation:
1. Go to your NieR Automata installation folder(Steam\steamapps\common\NieRAutomata).
2. place the "core" folder from the zip file inside the "data" folder.
Credits:
Grojdg for making the script to unpack the original blacklists files, and the dat-repacker.
A tiny utility mod that removes the restriction on prohibited words in player usernames. For players who want to use a name that the game normally blocks. Simple and functional, with minimal community traction (8 endorsements).
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Does exactly what it says—no bloat, just lets you pick the username you want.
- Tiny download (192 downloads) and lightweight, won't affect game performance.
- Last updated recently (Nov 2025), so it's likely compatible with current game version.
⚠️ Cons
- Very niche—only useful if you're specifically blocked from a word you want.
- Low endorsement count (8) means it's not widely tested by the community.
- No documentation or instructions provided by the author—you're on your own for installation.
For players who have tried to use a username and got blocked by the game's filter. If you're tired of workarounds and just want to use your preferred name, this mod is for you. Skip if you don't care about username restrictions or want any other features.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to back up your original game files before replacing anything, just in case.
- If the mod doesn't work after installation, check if your game has been updated recently—mods can break with patches.
