📋 About This Mod

Description

Weapon handling affects 3 points of Strength instead of 2 and can be taken at level 12. it also has a 5 Agility requirement. These changes bring it to parody with Fallout 2. You can take the perk even at 10 Strength now as there is a scaling bonus for reducing your gun spread. Gun spread is reduced by 10% for every point of Strength above 7 (30% at 10 Strength). Now even high Strength characters will find this useful! Also be advised that this checks current Strength and not your permanent value so a bottle of buffout suddenly has a new use!

Run 'n Gun now removes the accuracy penalties (limited only by the game engine) rather than halves them when moving. It also works for all weapons rather than just one handed weapons. Also provides a 10% move speed bonus when your weapon is drawn.

Main features

Perk changes

Run 'n Gun

(stat requirements unchanged)

The Run 'n Gun perk removes accuracy penalties with Guns and Energy Weapons while walking or running and grants +10% movement speed when any weapon is drawn.

NOTE: I like the concept of this perk but it feels really underwhelming. Even when actually playing a pistol/smg build, I would never pick this up. Just kept kicking the can down the road until the game was over. Now this perk should be more of a consideration even later in the game especially since it works with any gun. I felt the move speed bonus was also in line with the theme of the perk and its icon. The buff will counter the penalty of having a one handed weapon out (brings you to weapon holstered move speed) and brings two handed weapons to the one handed weapon move speed. You will still be faster with a one handed weapon which is a minor nod to the original perk in a way.

Weapon Handling

Level 12, Agility 5

You can handle weapons with ease. Weapon Strength Requirements are now 3 points lower than normal for you. For each point of Strength above 7, you gain 10% reduced gun spread (30% at 10 Strength).

NOTE: Not a terrible perk to be honest but was a little underwhelming. I decided to bring back the Fallout 2 aspects of it by buffing the original Strength value and lowering the level requirement back to what it was. I also decided to bring back the agility requirement because I thought that was actually a good stat requirement/explanation of how you could wield larger weapons. The Agili
🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Overhauls two Fallout New Vegas perks: Weapon Handling now reduces gun spread based on Strength above 7 and can be taken at level 12, while Run 'n Gun removes moving accuracy penalties for all weapons and adds a 10% move speed bonus when drawn. For players who found these perks underwhelming, especially high-Strength or fast-moving builds.

✨ Key Features

Weapon Handling now affects 3 points of Strength instead of 2 and can be taken at level 12 with 5 Agility.
Gun spread reduced by 10% per point of Strength above 7, up to 30% at 10 Strength.
Weapon Handling's spread reduction checks current Strength, so Buffout temporarily improves it.
Run 'n Gun removes moving accuracy penalties with Guns and Energy Weapons instead of halving them.
Run 'n Gun provides a 10% movement speed bonus when any weapon is drawn.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Run 'n Gun now removes accuracy penalties completely instead of halving them, making it actually useful.
  • Weapon Handling scales with Strength above 7, so high-Strength builds still benefit from the spread reduction.
  • Fresh upload with 0 endorsements and 0 downloads — no bloat, just two perk overhauls.

⚠️ Cons

  • 0 endorsements and 0 downloads — this mod hasn't been battle-tested by the community.
  • Manual install only: no mod manager, so you'll have to drop files into your New Vegas folder and track them for uninstall.
  • Run 'n Gun's accuracy removal is engine-limited, so it might not be 100% perfect on every weapon type.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout New Vegas players who always skip Run 'n Gun because it's weak, and want it to be a viable pick for any weapon build. Also for Strength-focused or Buffout-using characters who want a reason to take Weapon Handling even at high Strength. Skip if you're happy with vanilla perk balance or don't use these perks.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • After unzipping, double-check that the .esp is enabled in your Fallout New Vegas launcher or mod manager.
  • For Weapon Handling, use Buffout before a fight to temporarily raise current Strength and get more spread reduction.
  • Test Run 'n Gun with a two-handed rifle to see the new accuracy while moving—it now applies to all weapons.
