📋 About This Mod
This is a fix for the Tweaked Standing Idle by Documn:
www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42662
This updated animation file will enable headtracking and face animations on NPCs. The animation itself has not been altered. Please note that I have not applied these fixes yet to the Power Armor idle also included in Documn's mod file.
Thanks to Documn for making the animation in the first place.
Extract the animation to your New Vegas directory, keeping the directory structure as included in the .rar file.
This small animation fix restores headtracking and face animations for Documn's Tweaked Standing Idle, a popular idle animation replacement. It's a simple drop-in fix for players who want functional idle animations without losing character expressiveness. With over 1,000 endorsements and 117k downloads, it's a community-approved tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 1,079 endorsements and 117k downloads—clearly a fix people wanted.
- Solves a real annoyance: headtracking and facial expressions break with the original idle, and this restores them.
- Tiny file, no bloat—just drop it in and your idle looks natural again.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2014—might not play nice with newer game versions or other animation mods.
- Requires the original Tweaked Standing Idle mod to work, so it's not standalone.
For Skyrim players who use Documn's Tweaked Standing Idle and hate that your character's head stops tracking and face goes stiff. If you're a modder or player who values subtle animation details, this fix is a must-have. Skip if you don't use that idle mod or if you're on a newer Skyrim version where compatibility is uncertain.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the original Tweaked Standing Idle installed first, then overwrite its files with this fix.
- If you use a mod manager like MO2, let this mod overwrite the original to ensure the fix takes effect.
- Test in third person after installing—your character's head should follow nearby NPCs and your face should emote again.
