📋 About This Mod
This mod exists as a proof of concept, the idea is to introduce a new gameplay element to (Benny Humbles You) and Steals Your Stuff for the Courier to not just be able to come back to Capital Wateland (this is a Tale of Two Wastelands mod), gear up, and come back to New Vegas. Ideally a more creative modder should be able to improve on this idea, for me personally this is just enough, and so I'm sharing it for others to enjoy.
Special thanks to Trooper, who helped me find my keys!
This patch for Tale of Two Wastelands locks the New Vegas train station entrance with Benny's Tops Presidential Safe Key, preventing the Courier from returning to DC too early. It's a small, focused mod with 119 endorsements and 48,327 downloads, last updated in May 2023.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective: adds a clear progression gate for TTW playthroughs.
- Community-trusted: 119 endorsements and 48,327 downloads show it's widely used.
- Lightweight patch that doesn't overhaul anything else—just does its job.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in May 2023—may not be compatible with the latest TTW version.
- Only affects the train station entrance; if you want more progression locks, this won't cover them.
For Tale of Two Wastelands players who want a more linear experience and don't want to accidentally wander back to DC too early. If you prefer free-roaming without restrictions, skip this—it's purely a progression gate.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Tale of Two Wastelands installed and working before adding this patch.
- Place the mod file in your TTW mod folder or use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 for easy installation.
- If you're already past the point where you have Benny's key, this mod won't affect your current save—start a new playthrough to experience the gate.
