Overview
Throughout the development of Fallout New Vegas, the Strip as a whole went through a number of iterations. These changes included ever-prevalent concerns about optimization, as is well known, but also encompassed a broader shift of artistic vision for the area, likely due to the aforementioned changes: from the significantly more pristine version found in the E3 2010 Demo, the Strip was changed to be appreciably more run down, with ruined streets, crumbling buildings, half-destroyed pedestrian walkways, and for the purposes of this mod, more dilapidated interiors. Although, as far as I am aware, the ways in which the interior of the Ultra-Luxe (and to a lesser extent, Gomorrah) changed to meet this changing artistic direction are unknown, we had the unique opportunity through the E3 demo to see the Tops as it was in 2010 — as a respectable establishment, with minimal peeling walls and an overall vibe that matched the ratpack-esque theme intended for the location.
This mod, using leftover assets found within the game files, authentically restores the the Tops Casino to its former, substantially less sleazy self.
Installation
The standard fare. For non-Vortex users:
