Installation
Install with MO2 or another mod manager. MO2 is recommended.
For manual installation, extract the package and copy its contents into the game's Data folder.
The main configuration files are:
-
[]tnvse.ini[/]
[]tnvse_fonts.xml[/]
[]tnvse_dictionary.xml[/]
The first launch after changing fonts, configuration or cache format may perform a cold-start font prewarm. Keep the game running until the progress overlay completes. Later launches reuse the persistent caches and normally skip this process.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Essential for anyone modding in East Asian languages—this is the missing piece for proper text display.
- Active development (last updated Feb 2026) means it's likely compatible with current NVSE versions.
- Decent community trust with 70 endorsements and over 6.5k downloads.
⚠️ Cons
- Niche utility—if you play in English, you don't need this.
- Requires NVSE (not explicitly stated but implied), so you'll need that set up first.
For modders and players who want to use Chinese, Japanese, or Korean text in Fallout: New Vegas. If you're adding East Asian language mods or translating the game, this is a must-have. Skip if you're playing in English only.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have NVSE installed and working before adding this plugin—it's a dependency even if not listed.
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, install this plugin like any other NVSE plugin; otherwise, drop the files into your Data folder.
- Test with a mod that uses double-byte characters to confirm it's working before diving into a full playthrough.
