Simply Underwear

What this mod does

This mod adds a new clothing item, underwear, that is essentially a non-nude character skin as an outfit. It runs a script that will add underwear to any corpse NPC (as of v1. 4) that has their currently equipped armor unequipped (e.g. looted by the player). Exceptions are the four generic raider outfits, Honest Hearts tribal outfits, lingerie, prostitute outfits, slave rags, and the patient gown from Old World Blues. The script will work on any NPC added to the game but not on outfits not included in Vanilla + 4 DLCs. Will work with modded outfits as of v1. 1.

Companions are handled a little differently since they are the only ones who you can manipulate actively equipped armor while alive. They have underwear added and equipped whenever their armor is unequipped. If you ever want a new pair of underwear you can use a companion to span an infinite amount. Consider it a feature.

As of version 1. 3 companions no longer have underwear auto-equipped. The underwear is still added if they don't have any but as long as they don't consider anything else as "better" they shouldn't equip it until it's the last thing in the inventory.

• They will choose to wear underwear over clothing if DR/DT is 0 and below U in the alphabet (not sure if based on in-game name or ID, assume ID) so namely most vault suits. Just remove underwear from the inventory. Tried fixing it and I think it could be possible but juice ain't worth the squeeze.

  The player will also start the game with underwear equipped. Thank you to GraiceLain for originally discovering this and for creating a fix in the interim.

  Why make this mod?

  I thought it would be nice to not have to choose between having no nudity in a mature game that includes things such as sex, prostitution, and rape and having nudity everywhere, requiring the player to look over their shoulder before looting any piece of armor. Now nudity exists, at the players discretion.

  Installation/Requirements

  - NVSE is required for the script.

  - Improved Vanilla Male Body is required for the textures (Install Nude version, it includes the needed underwear textures). The male underwear mesh is included (had to be renamed, see below).

  - Type 4 - Body and Armors is required for the mesh and textures. Make sure this is loaded after the Type 4 plugin.

  - If you don't like Type 4 or IVMB you can manually install any body or clothing replacer you want. Just copy what you want to use as the underwear model and paste in meshes\armor\underwear and rename it to outfitm.nif for male and outfitf for female.
