📋 About This Mod
How do you actually cook food like that without pots, you may be wondering? This site has very interesting information - we'll all have learned something new today. I'd even dare say this is lore-friendly! They require nothing but the ingredient in the name of the recipe, so they are a great alternative for new characters.
These are NOT compatible with needs mods, as I am not using any. I'm not planning on making them compatible in the future, sorry. They are, however, compatible with Hardcore Mode. Here is a handy list of the items included. If you want to get some RIGHT NOW, you can use the ID codes; simply replace the black box with the two digits of the mod's load order.
As you can see in some of the screenshots, these meals restore a bit of hunger and have similar effects to their uncooked counterparts. In the latest update (v1b) I removed the strength penalty effect, so disregard that in the screenshots. The recipes have no skill requirements and the new consumables have not been added to leveled lists to avoid compatibility issues. I apologize in advance.
- UPDATE DEC 26: Merry Christmas everybody! In version 2. 0 food no longer damages rads. I've added new recipes for Mantis and Gecko eggs (regular, fire and golden) as well as roasted Mantis leg, and toned down the hunger effects a bit. Enjoy!
To install, extract the contents of your downloaded file to your "Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout New Vegas/Data" folder. Then activate the mod through your preferred launcher by ticking the checkbox next to the esp. Or you can use the Mod Manager to download the mod automatically. To uninstall, simply delete the file.
