📋 About This Mod
Requirements:
Dust Expansion Project
NPCs Travel
I recommend using Harder Barter Faster Stronger for balance
Major changes:
Adventurers have become survivors. They are survivors like you, trying to survive after the Fall, but they differ from other people though. They believe that even after the Fall, a deal can still be struck.
Hunters were changed to cannibals and 'survivors.' The latter are unhostile wastelanders who deal in the meat they 'hunt.' Cannibals, in contrast to 'survivors,' will attack you on sight.
Prospectors are now tribals. They have managed to tame dangerous beasts, which protect them. Tribals sell primitive goods. Even though the cloud has blocked the sunlight, a few plants still manage to grow somewhere. Tribals, having learned how to live off the land, are able to forage for these edible plants and they offer to sell them.
Mercenaries are changed to survivor squads. They have teamed up for a better protection from the treacherous wastes. One of them always has medical know-how, a skill that has become very rare after the Fall.
GR Caravan is changed to NCR Squad. When NCR evacuated in chaos they couldnt evacuate all of NCR personnel. These remnants still occupy a few places in Mojave. Left by California they gotta depend on scavenging and trading with the locals. They detest psychos and shoot them on sight, but they tend to leave alone sane folk.
Trust is hard to come by after the Fall. People tend to shoot first and ask questions later. Many fear those who have lost their mind. There is a script that turns survivors hostile, if your character has low sanity (karma).
Minor changes:
Added vendors sell less stuff,
hulls, primers, cases now cost something to balance economy,
changed robots that travel with tribals to deathclaws and radscorpions
Rebalanced armors added by NPCs travel, backpacks are now adjusted to DUST.
Dust unfriendly spawns for NPCs are disabled
Balanced repair lists for new armor
Rebalanced all leveled lists
Please let me know, if there are any issues and I will fix them quickly

This patch adjusts NPCs Travel by win2009 to fit better in DUST, a Fallout: New Vegas total conversion. With 36 endorsements and nearly 94,000 downloads, it's a niche compatibility fix for DUST players who want NPC travel mechanics without breaking the mod's balance.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- High download count (93,714) shows real demand for DUST compatibility
- Tiny patch that does one job without bloat
- Author snort is known for DUST-related mods
⚠️ Cons
- Only 36 endorsements — niche audience, so don't expect broad support
- Last updated July 2026 — may need checking against latest DUST updates
For DUST players who want the NPC travel system from NPCs Travel without breaking the harsh survival balance. If you're not playing DUST, skip this — it's a compatibility patch, not a standalone feature.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Load this patch after both NPCs Travel and DUST in your mod manager to ensure proper overwrite order.
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex, let it handle the load order automatically, but double-check that the patch is placed after the main mods.
- Since DUST is a total conversion, test early to ensure the patch doesn't conflict with other DUST patches you might have.
