📋 About This Mod

NPCs Sprint kNVSE

Obviously inspired by NPCs Sprint In Combat. This is a simple kNVSE implementation of the same mechanic that works as a plain movement animation replacer. It will make any humanoid NPC that uses 1-handed melee, 2-handed melee, or hand-to-hand weapons sprint during combat. It will also take into consideration crippled limbs, so anybody with a crippled leg won't be able to sprint.

Requirements

New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE xNVSE)

kNVSE Animation Plugin

JIP LN NVSE Plugin

Compatibility

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A lightweight kNVSE mod that adds combat sprinting for melee NPCs in Fallout: New Vegas. With 2,314 endorsements and 826,435 downloads, it's a popular quality-of-life improvement for players who want more dynamic enemy behavior. Last updated December 2025, it remains actively maintained.

✨ Key Features

Implements combat sprinting for melee NPCs using kNVSE
ESPless design, so it doesn't add to your load order
Simple and focused, with no extra bloat

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge community trust (2,314 endorsements, 826k downloads)
  • ESPless means no plugin slot wasted
  • Actively updated (December 2025)

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires kNVSE, so you need to install that first
  • Only affects melee NPCs, not ranged or creatures
  • No detailed documentation on compatibility with other AI mods
🎯 Is This For You?
For New Vegas players who want more aggressive and realistic melee combat from NPCs. If you're tired of enemies just walking at you, this makes them sprint, adding challenge. Skip if you prefer vanilla AI or don't want to mess with kNVSE dependencies.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure kNVSE is installed correctly and is the latest version, as this mod relies on it.
  • Since it's ESPless, just drop the files into your Data folder or use a mod manager; no need to activate a plugin.
  • Test with a melee NPC early on to see the sprint behavior and adjust if you have other AI mods that might conflict.
