📋 About This Mod
This file provides a user-configurable increase or decrease in the size and/or intensity of all ambient radiation in the game.
Configurable in the config ini.
Setting fRadiusMult to 0 will effectively remove ambient radiation from the game.
Requirements:
JIP LN, xNVSE, Johnny, ShowOff, the usual stuff.
Installation:
Regular installation.
Please endorse and vote if you appreciate the mod.
When updating from version 1.xx to version 2. 0+, replace your installation.
Compatibility:
Compatible with anything that uses standard radiation markers to create ambient radiation.
There was previously a version specifically for Irradiated Lonesome Road users, but compatibility with that mod has been folded into the main file.
Bugs:
Please report bugs in the bugs tab, not the posts. I get a notification when bugs are reported, but I have too many mods to keep up on the posts on all of them routinely.
Permissions:
Do whatever.
Support:
If you'd like to support my modding work or say thanks, feel free to donate via the Nexus or here at Ko-Fi.
More Or Less Rads is a lightweight, ESP-free Fallout 4 mod that lets you adjust the size and intensity of all ambient radiation zones. With 178 endorsements and over 136k downloads, it's a popular quality-of-life tool for players who want to tweak radiation hazards to their liking.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 178 endorsements and over 136k downloads—clearly a go-to for radiation tweaks.
- ESP-free means it won't clutter your load order or cause plugin conflicts.
- Simple configurable options let you dial radiation to your exact preference, whether you want a challenge or a chill playthrough.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects ambient radiation, not other radiation sources like barrels or enemies.
- Configuring might require some trial and error to get the balance right, especially if you're not familiar with ini tweaks.
For Fallout 4 players who want to fine-tune the radiation hazard in the wasteland, whether to make survival harder or to explore without constant rad management. Skip if you're looking for new content or gameplay overhauls—this is purely a tweak mod.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's ESP-free, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable via your mod manager—no plugin order worries.
- Test your radiation settings in a known rad-heavy area like the Glowing Sea to see the effect immediately.
- If you're using a mod manager, check the mod's config file after install to adjust values—it's usually a simple ini or text file.
